Chocolate Covered Cherries (Simple, Lush & Farm Fresh)
Chocolate Covered Cherries. Say no more. I’ve been living for these farm-fresh fruit summer days—the kind where everything tastes sweeter and life feels just a little slower. This is the third recipe I’ve made from my latest farm fruit haul, and I swear each one gets better. I’ve already made an incredible raspberry chia jam, and then turned it into an iconic summer toast combo with honey whipped cream cheese! But these chocolate-covered cherries are the perfect way to complete the farm fruit series! They’re as simple as they come, but feel like the chicest little treat.
They’re dipped in rich dark chocolate, sprinkled with flaky sea salt, and chilled to perfection. The kind of thing you keep stashed in the freezer for when you want something sweet and cold with absolutely zero effort. Think: dessert board elegance, but straight from the orchard. You only need a handful of ingredients, and the result is the perfect mix of indulgent and naturally fresh. I made a huge batch after picking cherries at the farm and have been popping them ever since—icy, chocolatey, and juicy in the best way.
What You’ll Need
This recipe is proof that simple can still feel special and luxurious. You only need a few quality ingredients, but together they create something so lush and indulgent. The dark chocolate brings richness, the sea salt adds that perfect contrast, and the fresh cherries—especially when they’re straight from the farm—make every bite juicy, vibrant, and summery in the best way. Keep the stems on for easy dipping (and extra charm).

Making the chocolate covered cherries
Start by washing your cherries and gently patting them dry—make sure there’s no moisture left on them so the chocolate sticks beautifully. Line a tray or plate with parchment paper and place your cherries on them place in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before dipping so they are chilled (not frozen).
Melt your dark chocolate with a touch of coconut oil until smooth and glossy. I like using a sauce pan and avoiding the microwave—just go slow and low stiring often.
Holding each cherry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate and let the excess drip off by giving them a twirl using the stem before placing it on the parchment-lined tray. Finish with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt for that perfect bite—rich, sweet, and a little savoury.
Once they’re all dipped, transfer to the freezer for about 20–30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm. Keep them stored in the fridge or freezer and enjoy them straight out of there—cold, juicy, and so satisfying. Each one is just to good to be true!
These gorgeous treats are one of my favourite things to keep in the freezer all summer long. They’re simple, elegant, and endlessly versatile—perfect for topping vanilla ice cream, serving on a summer charcuterie board, or as a sweet bite to end a romantic date night. I love how effortless they are, yet they always feel special. A reminder that sometimes the simplest things—ripe fruit, good chocolate, and a little sea salt—really are the most luxurious. I’ll be serving them barefoot in my garden in my hillside villa in Tuscany, a big tray full, sun glistening of the chocolate in the golden light. They’re honestly just as dreamy as they look. I can’t wait for you to experience these my love!
