It’s no secret that we all want bright, beautiful and glowy skin!! Our grocery list can seriously impact our skin health, that’s why I came up with the glowy skin grocery list! Our skin is our largest organ of our bodies! So for me, taking care of my skin is crucial! But what I have realized, is that it’s not so much about what your doing externally, it’s much more important what’s going on internally! This includes the foods we are consuming including the ingredients, and what we are feeding our skin on a daily basis! You could buy the most expensive skin care in the world, but if your not eating nourishing, whole foods that nurture your body and your gut health your skin won’t be in it’s optimal state! Feeding your mind, body, and skin with nourishing wholesome foods is actually a lot easier than most people think, I’m going to share my tips, and my glowy skin grocery checklist with you today!

Gut Health & The Glowy Skin Grocery List

When I mention gut health, there is a direct link between your skin and your gut health! It is very important that you have a healthy gut microbiota in order for this to reflect back to glowy and healthy skin! Your gut microbiota is the system of micro-organisms in your digestive tract that work to break down and absorb nutrient from your food! It then takes this nutrient, and feeds it to the rest of your body, including your skin! So think of it as feeding your skin! A healthy balance of gut microbiota will relate to your skins protective antimicrobial barrier, which is a protective barrier against bacteria, viruses and fungi! So what we put into our bodies directly what we see on the outside, and how well everything functions internally! Below is a list of all the food items & ingredients I rotate through when it comes to keeping my gut and skin health in check! Obviously I don’t buy everything on these lists every single time I’m at the grocery store, I rotate through them or just intuitively feel into what my body is wanting at that time! This list is perfect to keep on hand to know what to focus on in each food group/category. There is a lot of options so if you don’t like something, that’s totally ok pick something else within that category and focus on what feels and tastes best for you! Like I said whole, unprocessed foods are what you will want to focus on, I always think the brighter and more natural colour the better!
