Whipped Goat Cheese & Warm Olive Tapenade

Whipped goat cheese topped with a garlicky warm olive tapenade and finished with herbs. A simple, elegant appetizer perfect for entertaining, picnics, or patio season. A dreamy dish that is light, creamy, slightly indulgent and served with fresh bread, crackers or veggies!

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh baguette or fresh sourdough, crackers, veggies

Whipped Goat Cheese

  • 1 log goat cheese
  • 3-4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 zested lemon
  • salt & pepper to taste

Warm Olive Tapenade

  • cup olive oil
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • salt & pepper
  • ¼ cup kalamalta olives minced
  • ¼ cup green olives minced

Fresh Herbs

  • chives
  • cilantro
  • parsley

Instructions

  • Slice your baguette or sourdough, brush with olive oil and sprinkle with flakey sea salt. Bake for 15 min on 375 until crispy and golden.  
  • Whip your goat cheese using a hand mixer, add lemon juice & zest. Salt & pepper to taste. Whip until light & creamy. It will be very spreadable and fluffy when done.
  • In a frying pan warm your olive oil, garlic, and spices until simmering and fragrant. Add your minced olives and warm once more until olive are coated and mixed in.  
  • Spread your whipped goat cheese on a plate and spoon the warmed olive tapenade over top. Garnish with fresh herbs like minced chives and cilantro. Serve warm with toasted baguette, fresh sourdough, or crackers.
