Something About All Black

I love a good all black fit from head to toe, in fact some how it’s most often what I end up wearing without even trying… okay maybe it’s because it just feels so chic and I don’t know sexy?? There is JUST something about all black! If you know you know… It’s like the little black dress trend there’s just something about it! All black is just so satisfying and so chic, and it also make me personally feel so good! haha I don’t know about you, but let me know if you feel the same way haha! Usually all black is my go to for a travel day or for when I’m out running errands.. I don’t know there’s just something about all black I guess! Let’s get to this weeks outfit pick which just happened to be all black so I though we should chat about this trend that seemingly never seems to fade away…

Why There’s Something About All Black

ETERNAL & TIMELESS CHARM

Some may say that all black from head to toe may be boring or maybe not so engaging to look at, but I would have to completely disagree and so would the world of fashion and colour/shade trends! All black outfits have a timeless and chic charm that no other shade can embody! It’s striking and poised, and because it creates such a deep silhouette it’s very attractive and eye catching! In my opinion it is one of the most flattering and sexy colour shades you can wear, and that’s not to say that anything you wear can be worn with absolute confidence… it’s just something about the deepness to the shade of black that you can really play with it’s style. It truly is eternal and can be done is soooo many different ways! It can be done in the office setting with your classic black blazer and trousers, or dressed up to the nines as we call the little black dress trend! Or in the case of this look, you can keep it more casual and chill and play with athletic wear or some baggy parachute pants like I did here! I LOVE these pants!

BASIC BLACKS

We all own something of the shade black, whether its your classic black long-sleeve, black jeans, or a black jacket, black is the colour of everyones basics, which means it’s really easy and doable to create all black looks! I think it’s one of the main reasons why this trend will never not be a thing! It’s like turning your everyday basics into something more! Which hello… I love a good elevated look! You can take all your basic blacks and truly turn your outfit into something more! More sophisticated, more intriguing, and maybe even something more sexy!! It’s endless what you can do with your basic blacks, and it’s usually how I end up wearing this trend more times that not! I took one of my most favourite tight athletic wear zip ups which I love, and styled it with these loose and baggy parachute pants and I love the look it gives! Both are just a simple black basic, but when paired together it really makes a bold all black look!

Monochromatic styling

Wearing an all black outfit look totally works under the principals of monochromatic styling, which if you don’t know it simply means styling an entire look or outfit using all of the same shade! Which in this case we are talking about the shade black! This has been around forever in fashion and can be done with any colour and is super fun and intriguing to look at! Monochrome styling can utilize various patterns, textures, layers and even accessories, but the overall look has an overarching colour or shade theme! This creates beautiful contrast in your looks and you can play around with the hues and tints of colours as you do this too! I love to do this with the colour brown especially in fall because brown has soooo many hues and tints to it in fashion! I love to use monochromatic styling in my looks as you can tell haha!

You can definitely expect a lot more all black looks as well as monochromatic styling from me! I love to play with ideas and concepts like this when styling and picking looks! It’s so fun for me, I’m sure if your reading this you love it too!!
