Summer Staples Series: The intro to a season of style & simplicity
The Prelude to The Summer Staple Series
Welcome to the Summer Staple Series — a curated look at how I’m dressing this season: simple silhouettes, intentional styling, and those little touches that make an outfit feel elevated without ever feeling overdone. This is where I’m sharing the pieces I’m actually wearing — looks that move through hot days and golden hours with ease. Each post in this series highlights one summer staple I can’t stop reaching for: the textures, tones, and outfit formulas that are shaping my summer wardrobe. Especially those chic summer hats, mainly the ones that are giving Italian summer vibes. I linked my favourites for you at the end of the post! Here is a sneak peak….
It’s not about doing more — it’s about saying more with less. A strong silhouette. An unexpected texture. The way a single accessory can shift the entire mood of a look. There’s power in restraint when the pieces are this intentional when it comes to summer fashion.
Take this look, for example. A clean, unfussy base, finished with a soft-brimmed woven sun hat and a little gold on bare skin. Effortless, but still pulled together. That’s the energy I want all season. From quiet farm mornings to city afternoons and everything in between, this series is a window into my summer uniform — where simplicity meets style, and everyday moments feel just a bit more chic and elevated.
Let’s begin.
The Foundation of The Summer Staple Series
Before we dive into the first official staple, let’s talk about the foundation. The styling pieces that carry me through the season… The constants. The details that make every look feel like me.
In every outfit I’ll share in this series, you’ll find some version of these:
an accessory that sets the tone, gold jewelry layered with intention, maybe a pair of bangles or hoops that feel slightly bolder than the rest. These are the things that make a simple outfit styled — the little upgrades that pull it all together without needing much else.
They’re the through-line. The pieces that show up whether I’m wearing a crisp white dress, a low-rise linen jean, or nothing but a bikini and an oversized shirt. They’re versatile, effortless, and always chic. Think of this series as a framework — a soft formula for summer dressing. What changes are the pieces themselves. What stays the same is the foundation: gold jewels, statement accessories, minimal looks styled, and made distinctly me.
In every outfit I’ll share in this series, you’ll find some version of these… The Constants :
Gold Jewelry
Layered necklaces, stacked bangles, simple hoops — gold is a given. It brings warmth, polish, and quiet confidence to every outfit. Whether I’m dressed up or barefoot in the garden, there’s always something gold on my skin.
Statement Accessories
The right accessory sets the mood. This might be a soft-brimmed hat (like the one I’m wearing here), a sculptural pair of sunglasses, or a vintage-inspired bag. Even the simplest outfit feels styled when the extras are just right.
Minimal, But Styled Bases
At the core, summer style is about ease — and my outfits reflect that. Clean lines, light layers, soft textures. But simple doesn’t mean boring. It’s the way I wear them — the proportions, the details, the pairings — that keeps it personal and elevated.
These are the foundations that quietly define my summer wardrobe — a formula I return to again and again, with room to shift and evolve depending on the mood, the day, or the backdrop.
These foundations styled this look at my most recent picnic, check out the post here!
The Constants In this Look
This prelude is the perfect example of how I build upon the foundations in this Summer Staple Series. Unfussy, but styled.
A soft, woven sun hat sets the tone — relaxed, but intentional. It adds an effortless essence with just a hint of Italian vacation energy… even if I’m only walking through the raspberry bushes. It’s simple, but striking — the kind of natural texture that completes a look without overwhelming it. It’s not just an accessory — it’s a statement. A mood.
And of course, the gold jewels. Layered just-so, catching the light, adding that extra warmth and glow to sun-kissed skin. They bring a polished edge to the ease of it all — not too much, never too little.
As for the base itself — that minimal, but styled energy? We’ll talk more about that in our NO.1 Summer Staples Series post. Because what’s more essential to a summer wardrobe than a little white dress?
