Let’s Talk Tote Bags ft. Churi
I have to talk to you guys about totes, and no not just any tote bags! I’m talking about one of my most favourite tote bag brands, Churi! I think it’s important for you to know that I am seriously in love with Churi tote bags and I have been ever since I first saw them when I was in Vancouver in the summer! I was downtown shopping on Robson street, and there happened to be an artisan market going on and so naturally I went to look and as soon as the checkered tote bags caught my eye… I knew I was in trouble! I just knew I wasn’t leaving with out one! I couldn’t decide between the black and cream checkered OR the brown and cream checkered… so I ended up leaving with both lol! (it’s not my fault). Little did I know at the time I would get the chance to style and shoot some of Churi’s bags! I remember Linzy (the owner) being so sweet and cute, and from that moment on I just knew Churi would become a brand favourite of mine for SO many reasons, which I am going to talk about today and share the looks I put together with these gorgeous totes! So lets talk totes my babes…
Why I love Churi Totes
Unique & Chic
I know one of the reasons why these totes caught my eye is because I had never seen anything like them before, and trust me I have seen quite a lot of bags and purses! It was the unique patterns and materials that I fell in love with as soon as I saw them! I was immediately drawn to the checkered pattern because it was unique but still so chic and trendy! Churi also has so many other cute patterns besides the checkered that I love as well, and more like likely you will fall in love with something on the website! Trust me! The checkered has to be my number one favourite pattern and style, but I can’t help but want every single bag…. help! I also love the daisy print and the granny square style as well! They are just so beautiful!
Handmade
I couldn’t believe that the bags were handmade when I first saw them! The unique material and handmade artisan process looks so incredible I was shocked when I looked closer at the totes! I personally love handmade pieces in my wardrobe, it just makes them so special and makes me want to hold onto them forever! Each bag is made by women in Vietnam, where this handmade process and crocheting has been apart of their culture ever since they were young! Imagine just growing up being surrounded by different fabrics and textiles and learning how to create such beautiful pieces! I find that so fascinating and incredible! I love that when your buying a Churi tote it’s coming from such an incredible source!
Quality
Because these totes are handmade by experts I would say, you are ensured the best quality! And get this, you can even throw them into your machine washer if they need a good clean, you can check out the proper process here! Linzy was explaining to me that they use a very unique and high quality material that doesn’t fray or start to fluff out like other crocheted bags on the market, and when you see these bags you can totally tell their quality is a top priority for them! And after owning some of their totes I can definitely attest to this as well! I’m just in love with what they make and create at Churi!
Supporting Small Business
I love to support small businesses and their art! I try to do this before buying items that are more generic and from bigger brands or corporations! I think it’s so important to support people who are so passionate about what they are doing, and doing what they love! It’s what separates peoples brands apart for me and you can just tell when people are so passionate about what they make/sell/love to do! Churi’s goal as a brand is to design and create pieces that are timeless yet versatile, brining a beautiful piece into your daily life through sustainable and natural products! I LOVE this!
There are so many more styles and patterns to look at, these are just a few! I love them all! I can’t decide what look I love the best, the bags are just all so beautiful and unique! They also come in different colours, sizes & shapes as well! I can’t wait for you to look and fall in love too!
