I Fasted for 28 Days to Hear the Voice of God; Here’s what happened
I went ghost mode for the month of March, pushed away my plate, and sought after the Lord with all my heart so that I could hear Him clear as day with no doubt. I learned how to better hear Him, rest in Him, and steward His instructions and will for my life. I did not create content, post on social media (besides my content contracts), or even think about my business or anything other than God and His living word, it was the most transformative process I have ever been through. My flesh died as my spirit came alive. My flesh screamed at me, as my spirit became pleased with me. When you remove food from your day and those moments of quick dopamine you begin to see that nothing and I mean nothing, will ever fill you up like the love and word of God. Nothing will ever compare to the love He has for you. No person, no relationship, no designer purse, no amount of likes, comments or followers, no amount of money in your bank account. These things are vanishing, fleeting, a wordly rush that only ever leaves you feeling more empty than how you started. But His love, His faithfulness remains for eternity. When you fast your killing your flesh, because if you didn’t know already, your flesh lies to you every. single. day. You know when you begin to get really hangry and those feelings of reactivity, frustration, emotional dis-regulation start to manifest it’s actually your flesh responding and I can almost guarantee you that when you get hangry it’s not the only place those responses show up. How you are in one area is how you are in every area of your life. I wanted to kill those parts of me, kill the parts of self-sabotage, kill the emotional disregulation, kill the irritability, kill the frustration. As your flesh dies, your spirit comes alive. Your spirit can only have room to speak to you when you silence your flesh with intention. Lots of us think we are hearing from our spirits but it’s actually our flesh, take away food and you will begin to see. Fasting breaks off the chain of strongholds out of our lives, frees us from past ways, and renews us in the image of God (Isaiah 58). When you fast with Him, He works on you. He will speak to you, I promise. He spoke to me more than he ever has, in ways I will never forget. When you’re fasting, your spiritual senses will heighten and you’ll hear God clearly because you have removed the satisfaction of your flesh. That is what I desired, I wanted my flesh to be silenced so I could hear God so clearly and not miss what he was telling me on some matters in my life. A lot of people think they hear from God, but they don’t because there are so many voices in their minds, I’ve been there. Fasting is crucial when you want to deepen your walk with God and with your faith. I know Him in a way I didn’t before, my life and my will is His, I don’t want or need anything that is not a part of His plans for me. Your flesh loves to tell you otherwise… Here are 12 things that God showed me that I think are so important in our walk with Him. Whether you know God or not, He knows you, He loves you, these lessons can be applied no matter where your at in your walk with Him. I fasted to Hear the Voice of God; 12 Things God Told me 1. Never seek revenge. Even in the smallest ways. Never try to hurt someone back, even in those little subconscious ways we all do. Vengeance is the Lords. He is the balancer of the scales. Trust me when I say this; He doesn’t play around with His daughters. He is the best Father to His daughters. When you reside in Him, whoever hurts you, it hurts Him. He will take care of it. He will use that pain & hurt for your own benefit and turn it into a blessing, but only when you learn that vengeance is not ours to seek. When you seek revenge your telling him you don’t trust him enough to take care of you and what happened. What happens to those who hurt you is none of your business, bless them, and keeping going. Scripture: Romans 12:19“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’” Proverbs 24:29“Do not say, ‘I’ll do to them as they have done to me…’” Matthew 5:38–39“You have heard… ‘eye for eye’… but I tell you, do not resist an evil person…” 2. When you seek Him, He seeks you. When you reside in Him, He resides in you. The more you seek God, the more you desire for Him to be in your life, the more He will show up for you. He has given us free will (that doesn’t mean freedom, it just means a life without God which is not good) He loves us so much that he will let us come to Him instead of forcing Himself upon our lives. Fasting is one of the main ways God becomes pleased with us because we are sacrificing our meals to seek after Him, and He in return seeks after us. Scripture: Psalm 14:2“The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.” Jeremiah 29:13“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” James 4:8“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” 3. The Word of God is spiritual food, it gives you life and sustains you. When you lift up a fast for God, to hear Him speak, receive confirmation, … Continue reading I Fasted for 28 Days to Hear the Voice of God; Here’s what happened
