Denim on Denim; An Autumn Aesthetic

I can’t name a better season of the year to play with certain trends and styles, Fall really has it all going on for us when it comes to fashion. I start thinking about fall fashion for the next year as soon as one has ended…. I know a bit much right? But I can’t help myself its seriously my most inspiring time! Just like this denim on denim trend that I am obsessed with, there is so much fun and design to be had! I never thought that I would love the vibe of denim as much as I do this 2023 season, but its such a fun style and combo to play with! The Denim on denim trend is most definitely an autumn aesthetic that took over this fall 2023 season! There are many reasons why I love denim, and no not just jeans, I mean the material and all it has to offer when it comes to design! I can’t wait to share all that with you below and how I style and wear my denim on denim looks!

In this look I paired a very baggy and long** pair of denim jeans with an oversized denim jacket! Ok so I I didn’t think the jeans would be that long and drag on the ground lol, but I should have known because I’m also such a shorty lol! But honestly it was kinda a vibe and it ended up looking kinda funky and fun! The jeans are from Zara and the top denim jacket is also from Zara! I layered a long black turtle neck underneath and I loved how it created another layer and some more depth to this looks! My favourite part is how the sleeves parachute out of the jacket, I have a thing for fun sleeves!! Especially when they are a showcased detail!

When it comes to actually wearing and styling a denim on denim look, or any denim piece for that matter, the ways you can go about it are endless! There is so much room for play and creativity! It’s why I love fashion and how unique it is for each person! It’s always so fun seeing how other people style and wear certain trends and its definitely how I get inspired a lot of the time! I love how people use there own styling principals to wear their looks! Below I will share some of mine that came to me when playing with the denim on denim looks this fall season and some of my favourite denim styles and pieces!

Beyond the Jean

When it comes to playing with denim in your looks I always say to experiment with some denim pieces other than jeans! Don’y get me wrong jeans are a major major player in my wardrobe, but when you want to create a denim on denim look you are going to need another piece to go along with the jeans! I love a good denim jacket or trench! There are so many cute denim trenches out there oh my goodness! Another fun way to incorporate denim into your looks is with a cute denim top! Baggy denim jeans and a cutesy denim top is such a vibe! In this look I kept it simple yet chic with a matching pair of denim jeans with a denim oversized jacket!

Baggier the Better

The looser the fit the more on trend, thats what I like to say when finding denim that are going to be a hit in my wardrobe! I find that when you leave some space in your denim fits you give yourself some more room to play with the style and wear as well! When the denim is looser it gives a relaxed, cool, and comfortable look. Despite the relaxed and comfortable vibe, this look can be quite the statement and head turner!
