A Love Note: to the shifting season

Every year, there’s a moment when you can feel the season change. The light softens. The mornings get slower. The air feels a little crisper, like it’s asking you to breathe deeper.

This fall, I’ve been paying attention to that feeling more than ever. Maybe because life has been shifting in ways I didn’t expect — emotionally, creatively, energetically. Or maybe it’s because the farm has been my quiet reminder that change is constant, and it’s always beautiful in its own way.

When I walk through the orchard, the grapes have softened on the vine and the apples are ripening into that deep, golden hue. The pears are almost ready to fall. It’s such a simple thing, but watching it all reminds me that letting go is a natural part of growth.

Just like the trees, we’re not meant to hold on forever.
Sometimes we outgrow things — versions of ourselves, people, habits, dreams — even when we thought they’d last longer.

But the magic of this season is that every release makes space for renewal.
Every leaf that falls creates room for something new to bloom later.

Lately, I’ve been learning to trust that. To not rush to fill every empty space, but to sit in the in-between. The quiet after change. The messy middle. The space where you’re shedding and still figuring out what’s next.

And somewhere in that stillness, I’ve been finding peace — in the simple, grounding things. In golden walks beneath the changing trees, cozy coffee shop mornings with my mom, sipping on a warm matcha or spiced chai latte as the sun hits just right through the window. Filling a basket with apples, or baking apple pasties just because it feels like the right way to honour the season.

Those moments remind me that beauty doesn’t come from perfection — it comes from presence. From noticing. From choosing to show up for your own life, even while it’s shifting.

I’ve been pouring that same energy into my kitchen lately — into my new fall baking series, Chai & Spiced. It feels like the perfect embodiment of this season: cozy, comforting, and full of new beginnings. Maybe that’s what this shift is about — finding sweetness in the process, and learning to trust your own timing.

So if you’ve been moving through your own shift — whether it’s something external or internal — take this as a little reminder that it’s okay to let go. You’re allowed to soften, to slow down, to reimagine.

The trees don’t question it. They just trust the timing.

💌 P.S. we chatted about this is this weeks love letter together, and I love connecting with all of you there!
